Support Services Worker (Sitter)
Location: Mill Cove NB
Wage: $23.00–$25.00 per hour
Position Summary
Adapt Healthcare is seeking compassionate and reliable Support Services Workers (Sitters) to provide one-to-one support for a resident. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the resident's safety, providing companionship, and redirecting behaviors as needed while maintaining the resident's dignity and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 supervision and support to a resident.
- Redirect the resident as required to promote safety and well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in the resident's condition or behavior.
- Assist in maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive environment.
- Follow facility policies and care directives.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other team members.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a sitter, personal support worker, continuing care assistant, resident attendant, or in any healthcare-related role.
- Current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid Canadian work permit, permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain attentive, patient, and professional throughout the shift.
- Experience working with seniors, dementia care, mental health, or long-term care is considered an asset.
- Able to work 12-hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and/or 12-hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
