Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cell Phone Repair Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have proven, hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of smartphones and tablets, including Android and iOS devices. This role requires demonstrated technical expertise in hardware repairs, software troubleshooting, and reading schematics — candidates without prior repair experience will not be considered.
A strong understanding of mobile device operating systems and hardware components is required, along with sharp analytical skills, solid familiarity with computer hardware, and confident proficiency with hand tools to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
Responsibilities
- Device Diagnosis & Repair
- Diagnose hardware and software issues on a wide range of smartphones (Android and iOS).
- Perform screen glass restoration and replacements on LCD and OLED displays.
- Replace batteries and restore proper charging functionality.
- Repair or replace charging ports and SIM card trays.
- Replace front and rear cameras and restore full camera functionality.
- Repair or replace speakers, earpieces, and microphones.
- Replace physical buttons, including power, volume, and home buttons.
- Troubleshoot software issues, operating system errors, and connectivity problems (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular).
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and within company standards and timelines.
- Microsoldering (strong asset)
- Knowledge of device schematics (strong asset).
Frame Painting & Device Finishing
- Perform frame painting on smartphones to restore or customize the device's appearance.
- Polish the device screen surface to a professional finish.
- Prepare device surfaces before painting or polishing, including cleaning, masking, and priming as required.
- Apply paint coatings evenly and consistently to achieve a factory-quality result.
- Inspect painted and polished devices for quality, consistency, and finish defects before release.
- Handle paints, polishing compounds, and related materials safely and in accordance with workplace guidelines.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Test all repaired devices to verify full functionality and performance before release.
- Confirm touchscreen responsiveness, camera quality, audio output, and connectivity after the repair.
- Inspect painted and finished devices to ensure cosmetic quality meets company standards.
- Identify recurring device issues and escalate to management when necessary.
Inventory & Parts Handling
- Handle, organize, and store repair parts, tools, and finishing materials properly.
- Track parts and supply usage and report low inventory levels to the appropriate team.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully functional at all times.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate repair records for all completed work.
- Document issues found, repair actions taken, testing results, and parts used.
- Communicate unusual device issues or repair concerns to supervisors promptly.
Workplace Standards & Safety
- Follow all company procedures, safety guidelines, and repair standards.
- Handle devices, components, and finishing materials carefully to prevent damage.
- Support a professional, collaborative, and productive team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic to advanced knowledge of mobile device repair and troubleshooting (Android and iOS).
- Familiarity with device schematics and hardware diagnostics.
- Preferably, experience with frame painting, polishing, or cosmetic device restoration is an asset.
- Proficiency with hand tools and precision repair equipment.
- Familiarity with mobile operating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially for cosmetic finishing work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable handling small electronic components and precision repair tools daily.
- Ability to work with paints, polishing compounds, and related materials safely.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during repair and finishing shifts.
- Some lifting of devices, boxes, or repair materials may be required.
Pay: $21.00-$26.00 per hour
