Holistic Nutritionist / Nutritional Coach
Part-Time Independent Contractor
Location: Oyama, Lake Country
Diversified Rehabilitation Group is a leader in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety treatment. We are looking for someone who can contribute to the development and maintenance of our clients’ overall health and wellbeing through nutrition within a biopsychosocial framework.
You will work as part of a larger interdisciplinary team to support adults with their healing journey by developing/facilitating nutritional workshops & educational sessions as well as assist clients in some meal preparation in a residential environment.
This position is 3-6 hours per week, during our residential programs. The position requires the individual to be on location 1 to 2 times per week on including Saturday mornings to facilitate group educational sessions and nutritional workshops. Topics include nutrition and its impact on our mental health, healthy habits, mindful eating and gut brain health. Additional training and orientation time will be required at the start with flexibility around availability.
Work Experience/ Abilities:
- Knowledge of mental health conditions (PTSD, anxiety and depression)
- Ability to present and facilitate discussion to small groups
- Ability to engage with clients and respond to their inquiries in a caring and professional manner
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to observe and recognize changes in individuals
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with individuals
- Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
Qualifications:
- Nutritionist Certificate
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Cleared Criminal Record Check – Vulnerable Sector
- Current First Aid
- Food Safe certificate
- Proficient intermediate computer skills: Windows, MS Word, and Excel
- Current class 5 driver’s license
