Salary: $53,633.18 - $60,705.12 per annum/hour **based on work experience
Hours: 40-hour work week (35 working hours plus 5 hours allocated to daily half hour paid lunches and unpaid breaks)

About the role:
This role is under direct direction of the Program Coordinator or their designate, and under the general direction of the Community Supports and Services Director. The primary responsibilities of the Employment Consultant:
Provide aid, advice, information, and support to clients on all aspects of employment search and career planning. Part of this role is also workshop facilitation and outreach presentations. This position will require the delivery of employment services primarily at the office in Kanata.
As the successful candidate, you will have:
University Degree/College Diploma in a Social Services program OR related field.
Bilingualism in English/French.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Employment Ontario Employment Services Programs.
Experience working with Case Management Databases (i.e. CaMS and CaseFLO).
Experience in social services.
High level of computer proficiency (MS Office, databases, Excel).
Experience working with clients facing barriers to employment including mental health.
You’ll also be prepared to:

Provide a range of direct individualized services to clients, including intakes, needs assessment, supportive counselling, and job placement (where appropriate).

Assist clients with career exploration, resume preparation, job search strategies and interview skills; coaching and mentoring by appointment and walk in.

Facilitate employment opportunities for clients through regular recruitment and contact with prospective employers (for information, referral, job leads and placement).

Facilitate workshops related to employment needs of clients as needed.

Aid clients and market Employment Ontario programs (including Better Jobs Ontario and Job Creation Partnership).

Regularly provide new job postings and leads to clients; keep all resources in Resource room up to date and current.

Facilitate and organize information sessions, workshops and job fairs as required.

Explore new resources in response to emerging client needs and labor market.

Maintain up to date knowledge of community resources to make appropriate referrals to other services.

Maintain accurate, organized and up to date records and client files and always maintain client confidentiality.

Maintain daily input of service plans and case notes into database.

Assist with other roles within the organization as required.

Successfully identify individual employment needs and support clients with appropriate services.

Have knowledge of and make use of community, government, employment and training resources and labour market information.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of clients that will involve some evening and weekend work as required.

Be outgoing, innovative, and enthusiastic, with a passion for assisting others.

Have strong organizational, time management, coaching, social media, networking, and administration skills.

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Have sound knowledge of labour market needs/trends and community resources.

Be knowledge of social, environmental, employment and cultural issues affecting individuals.

Be able to obtain clear Level 2 Police Records Check.
