The Opportunity
We are seeking a Security Guard for a full-time, permanent position supporting an active industrial project in Kamloops. This is a ground-level opportunity for a security professional who is serious about building a long-term career that includes advanced first aid and occupational health and safety skills.
We are particularly interested in candidates who hold a valid BC Security Worker Licence and who are also interested in Occupational First Aid. If you're a security professional thinking of renewing a lapsed OFA3 certification, or pursuing WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid (AFA) training for the first time, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role
This position operates within a modern industrial security environment. Duties include access control, CCTV monitoring and system operation, incident documentation, radio communications, and general site security. Candidates must be proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office, and be comfortable learning and operating site-specific security technology and software. If you thrive in a technology-supported environment where you'll be interacting with visitors and site personnel, this role is a strong fit.
Schedule & Location
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- 12-hour shifts (days and nights, rotation basis)
- Project site within Kamloops
- Commute from within Kamloops or surrounding area required; this is not a fly-in/fly-out camp project
Candidates currently located outside Kamloops who are open to relocating are encouraged to apply. Temporary lodging support may be available for the right candidate during an initial transition period, to be discussed during the offer process.
Compensation
- $3,956/month (based on a 7 on/7 off schedule)
- Hiring bonus: $300 upon successful completion of 3-month probationary period
- Certification reimbursement: WPA will reimburse the cost of your WorkSafe BC AFA recertification or initial certification upon successfully passing your course exams, subject to eligibility criteria

Example: After 2 years, if you contribute $1,000, WPA adds $500. After 3+ years, if you contribute $2,000, WPA adds $2,000.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Valid BC Security Worker (Guard) Licence
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and comfortable learning new technology
- Physically capable of performing security duties in an industrial environment
- Strong communication skills and a professional, composed demeanour
- Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends
Strongly Preferred:
- Prior experience in industrial, mine site, or resource sector security
- WorkSafe BC Advanced First Aid (AFA) or OFA Level 3 certificate — active, expired, or actively pursuing
- Candidates with an expired AFA/OFA3 are encouraged to apply; temporary modified duties and certification reimbursement support available upon hiring, for the right candidates
Assets:
- Strong experience with access control, incident reporting, and radio communications
