An established professional services organization is seeking an experienced Ontario-licensed lawyer who is interested in leading or growing a client-focused legal practice without carrying the usual administrative and business-development burden alone.

Responsibilities
* Maintain complete professional independence and control over all legal work;
* Conduct client consultations and determine whether to accept retainers;
* Supervise legal files, staff and legal-service delivery;
* Maintain responsibility for conflicts checks, trust compliance, client confidentiality and Law Society requirements;
* Help establish appropriate practice systems and professional standards;
* Provide services within the lawyer’s demonstrated areas of competence.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an asset:
* Civil and commercial litigation;
* Family law;
* Immigration law;
* Corporate and commercial law;
* Real estate law;
* Wills and estates;
* Employment law.
The successful candidate must be licensed and entitled to practise law in Ontario and must maintain all required professional liability insurance and regulatory compliance.
Compensation
Competitive and flexible compensation arrangements are available, including a monthly retainer, hourly compensation, salary-based arrangements or another Law Society-compliant structure agreed upon with the successful candidate.
This is not a conventional associate position. It is an opportunity for an experienced lawyer to practise with substantial operational support, flexible hours and the ability to help shape and lead the legal practice.
