RV Canada Ottawa has employment opportunities for 2 RV Technicians (one junior technician and one senior technician). These positions will work at the RV Canada Service Centre located on Willowlea Road in Carp, Ontario.
Overview:
Our Technicians must be able to work on all type of RVs, compete jobs as per service orders, and coordinate with Tower/On-Site Advisor for workload assignments and meet all standards for repairs and maintenance requirements.
Technician responsibilities include completing jobs, updating files, using digital platforms and coordinating with QC Technical advisor on jobs for best performance.
To be successful in this role, you should have experience either RV1 or RV2 certifications and have good communication skills to interact with internal teams, as well as familiarity with customer service. Ultimately, you will ensure quality jobs are completed as per standards and scope of work assigned. RV Technicians know a little bit about everything such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc.
A Technician’s responsibilities include managing their work loads and ensuring completion of tasks in the time allocations. You will maintain the records on work orders and upload all information related to the scope of work to the digital files. You are in control of your tasks and each item that is required to complete the task. You are responsible for making sure that the RV is repaired or serviced effectively.

Senior Technician: $28 - 37/hr., based on experience + vacation pay

Reports to: Shop Foreman
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Examine/troubleshoot and diagnose units needing repair and maintenance.

Discuss repairs and communicate additional requests with the shop foreman and/or service advisor/on-site coordinator.

Provide plan work procedures and labor time estimates to the service advisor/on-site coordinator and may consult with shop foreman.

Install/repair and maintain interior and exterior components depending on the scope of work and varied for on-site jobs. This covers motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheel trailer repairs such as roof, siding, windows, doors, awnings, vents, floor cabinets, counters, plumbing systems, electrical systems, propane gas systems, batteries and charging systems, body, and structural components.

Install accessories.

In shop technicians will perform pre-delivery inspections, troubleshoot, repair and conduct maintenance on propane gas and electric appliances - furnace, refrigerator, water heaters, and A/C units.

Use testing equipment / troubleshooting techniques / manufacturers specs and internet websites.

Monitor repair time and update service advisor/on-site coordinator regularly.

Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation.

Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs on digital platforms.

Attend company and factory training and keep current with factory technical bulletins.

Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste).

Maintain and update records.
