Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in group homes. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities. Support Workers play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being through personalized assistance and compassionate support.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Support with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' quality of life
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including toileting, grooming, and transfers
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals or supervisors
- Support residents with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or group homes is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly valued
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is a plus
- Caregiving experience including meal preparation and light housekeeping is beneficial
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role
