The Project: This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.

You'll Be Responsible For:
Accountable for the risk management performance of all service delivery for their assigned Hub(s).
Responsible for ensuring the portfolio of risk management services across assigned Hub(s) are fully aligned with good practice and international ISO standards and reflected in Control Centre.
Provides expert advice and support to all projects within Hub and additional support to other Hubs .
Partners with clients exceeding their expectations and building strong professional relationships.
Acts as the risk management Subject Matter Expert within assigned Hub/territory.
Leads and directs the delivery of all technical risk management services within assigned Hub(s).
Responsible for leading the delivery of risk management provision to deliver key strategic outcomes and sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development of risk portfolio.
Maintains, cultivates and establishes a strong collaborative network, developing partnerships with key senior internal and external stakeholders.
Manages, influences and negotiates with key senior stakeholders (C-Suite and Board) on matters of strategic importance.
Leads the implementation of a systematic performance improvement cycle to continually improve the quality of function/portfolio.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll Need To Have:
Significant experience in leading risk management on major, complex, or landmark construction projects.
Proven ability to develop and deploy robust risk management strategies, frameworks, and integrated project controls methodologies.
Expert knowledge of risk tools, techniques, and software (e.g., Active Risk Manager, riskHive, @RISK, Primavera Risk Analyzer).
Strong capability to manage high levels of uncertainty and provide effective consultancy to clients and key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
Strong business development skills with commercial awareness, including cross-selling services within client organizations.
Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry, including trends, innovation, and associated risks and opportunities.
Demonstrates leadership by example and actively promotes organizational behaviours and standards.
Strong leadership and influencing skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours and relationships while maintaining positive outcomes.
Capable of managing multiple competing priorities and directing teams to achieve successful results.
Resilient and adaptable in high-pressure environments and challenging client situations.
Proven experience leading multiple teams across projects, sectors, markets, and international locations.
Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) delivering risk management services on major construction programmes.
Degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification or experience).
Chartered status (or working towards) with a relevant professional body such as APM or IRM (or local equivalent).
Note: The estimated salary for this position is 230,000 - 320,000 CAD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
