Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bartender/Server to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food and beverage service, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. This role involves preparing and serving drinks, taking food and drink orders, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable visit in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with POS systems, along with solid food safety knowledge, is essential. The successful candidate will thrive in a team-oriented setting, demonstrate effective time management, and uphold high standards of hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently using POS systems
- Take food and drink orders from guests, providing attentive and friendly service throughout their visit
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, tables, and workstations in compliance with health regulations
- Manage multiple tables or bar stations simultaneously while providing exceptional customer service
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Assist in opening or closing duties as needed, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to serve guests promptly during busy hours
Qualifications
- Smart-Serve & Food Handlers certification
- Proven experience as a bartender/server in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and making change accurately
- Experience with serving alcohol responsibly and understanding alcohol laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Prior experience in hospitality or food service is preferred but not mandatory; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential
