Overview
We are seeking a skilled Property Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various commercial property maintenance tasks. They must be able to obtain secret government clearance and have experience in technical writing and creating policies and procedures. This position is for the hours of 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Monday - Friday.
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform operational and preventive maintenance tasks on building HVAC systems, including mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, heating, ventilating, plumbing drainage and fire protection equipment.
- Participate in Rotating On-Call Services (Approximately every 4 weeks).
- Respond to complaints from building occupants related to facilities operational problems and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure they abide by building guidelines.
- Operate Building Automation and Security Systems and maintain records and logs of maintenance and repair activities.
- Work with Management Team to Develop policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Strong oral and written skills in English
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), BMS (Building Management Systems), Electrical, Mechanical
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building operations or related trades
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with tenants and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb and crawl;
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding and in tight places.
Preferred Qualifications and Experiences is an asset
- Solid knowledge of WHMIS requirements
- Verbiage of French bilingualism
- Active security clearance up to ( secret level) .
- Valid Class G Driver’s license and vehicle . ( for on call )
