Position Summary
Centennial College is seeking two Student Recruitment Ambassador (SRA) to join the Student Recruitment and Outreach team within the Partnerships, Enrolment and External Relations Division. The division is responsible for meeting the enrolment goals of all full-time, part-time, micro-credential, and continuing education programs each intake.
The Student Recruitment Ambassador (SRA) reports to the Manager, National Student Recruitment, within the Partnerships, Enrolment and External Relations (PEER) division.
The Student Recruitment Ambassador represents the College and provides front-line support for student recruitment activities by delivering information to prospective students, families, school representatives, and community partners regarding Centennial College programs, admission requirements, student services, scholarship, awards and financial funding opportunities, and information about Ontario post-secondary admission processes, pathways and options. The role supports lead collection, relationship management, and encourages engagement with Centennial College recruitment activities and events.
The SRA participates in scheduled recruitment outreach activities at secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and recruitment events across Ontario. The role follows established outreach plans and approved messaging to ensure consistent and accurate representation of the College.
The incumbent supports the College’s recruitment presence by delivering presentations, responding to inquiries, and assisting with the collection of prospective student contact information using established systems and processes. The SRA plays a supportive role in maintaining the College’s high reputation, visibility and accessibility to prospective students and their supporters.
Responsibilities
The Student Recruitment Ambassador supports the delivery of recruitment outreach activities by participating in visits, presentations, and events directed by National Student Recruitment staff, and is responsible for:
- Participating in scheduled recruitment visits to secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and recruitment events.
- Delivering accurate information about Centennial College programs, admissions requirements, student services, and campus life.
- Delivering multimedia presentations to small and large audiences using approved content and messaging.
- Supporting engagement with prospective students and their supporters through presentations, group interactions, and general information sharing.
- Responding and following-up to inquiries using accurate messaging and seeking support for complex questions with appropriate staff.
- Assisting with the collection of prospective student contact information and ensuring accurate entry into designated recruitment systems.
- Following established schedules, travel plans, and visit itineraries as assigned.
- Scheduling recruitment visits within assigned region or school board.
- Providing general observations from recruitment activities to the Manager or designate (e.g., common questions or student interest areas).
- Tailoring messaging and presentation content for diverse prospective student audiences. Recruitment messaging, materials, and processes are provided as part of a comprehensive training program.
- Supporting institutional and community engagement activities by participating in scheduling outreach visits and events with schools, community organizations, and other partner groups within their assigned geographic region or school board.
- Attending assigned visits with guidance counsellors, educators, and community representatives as part of scheduled outreach activities.
- Scheduling additional visits based on their assigned region or school board.
- Sharing accurate information about Centennial College programs, admissions, and recruitment events.
- Supporting the visibility of Centennial College at assigned institutions and events through attendance and information delivery.
- Providing feedback on frequently asked questions or engagement observations to support internal awareness.
- Supporting the implementation of recruitment activities coordinated by senior staff.
Qualifications/Experience
- 3-year diploma/degree, or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Events Management, Public Relations, Information Technology, Communications or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with student recruitment and/or education/career pathway advising, preferably within a post-secondary setting; or experience with sales and/or marketing within a post-secondary setting.
- Valid G driver’s license with a clear record (provided annually), and access to a reliable car.
- Ability and willingness to engage in frequent travel across the province of Ontario including extended travel assignments of up to one week in duration.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering multimedia presentations to large groups.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience planning, delivery, and support of small and large-scale events.
- Excellent customer service, sales, and interpersonal skills are required.
- The ability to work independently, to establish and meet priorities, and exercise sound judgement.
- Experience with data collection and working with databases or Customer Service Management tools.
- Experience and understanding into the diverse needs of post-secondary learners with a focus on what engages and appeals to students.
- A thorough understanding of all levels of the provincial education system, current issues and related trends and legislation at the provincial and Ministry level.
- Excellent research skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving through the application of innovative, current, and new technologies is required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, develop rapport and form productive client sales relationships with a wide variety of potential prospects and their families and representatives in culturally diverse environments, as well as communicate effectively using variety of current and new media tools.
