Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Certified Dental Assistant Level II to join our growing dental team in Waterloo. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, orthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials while maintaining strict infection prevention and sterilization protocols.
- Take digital dental radiographs.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software (open dental)
- Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions and oral hygiene education.
- Ensure patient comfort and deliver exceptional customer service throughout each visit.
- Assist with appointment flow and support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant Level II (Ontario) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience required.
- Experience in general dentistry is required; orthodontic and pediatric experience is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with open dental practice management software.
- Experience with digital radiography.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection prevention protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy clinical environment.
