Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanic Helper to assist in maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical repair, equipment operation, and maintenance across diverse industries such as construction, agriculture, and manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Assist experienced mechanics with repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Support the disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components using hand tools and power tools
- Perform routine inspections of machinery and identify potential issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Operate industrial equipment safely under supervision while adhering to safety protocols
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely to move parts or equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with welding, electrical work, or other specialized tasks as directed by senior technicians
- Learn to read schematics and technical diagrams for various machinery systems
- Support the team in assembly tasks for new or repaired equipment
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive repair, HVAC systems, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading is advantageous
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or excavators is a plus
- Strong aptitude for heavy lifting and physical labor in demanding environments
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service when interacting with team members or clients
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and learn quickly in a hands-on environment
- Prior dealership experience or mechanic experience is beneficial but not required
- Knowledge of electrical systems or schematics enhances suitability for the role
- Willingness to develop skills in crane operation, farm machinery maintenance, or other specialized areas
