Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess/Expo to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensure smooth restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role is vital in providing an exceptional dining experience by managing reservations, greeting guests, and supporting the serving team.
Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and manage seating arrangements to optimize table utilization
- Assist with guest inquiries via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Manage waitlists and reservations using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and dining area
- Support serving staff by delivering menus, water, or other items as needed
- Handle guest concerns professionally to ensure a positive dining experience
- Assist with setting up dining areas for special events or large parties
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, guest service, and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant service, hospitality, or hotel environment preferred
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food service operations and customer service principles
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable but not required for entry-level candidates
