Position Summary
The Design Assistant supports the design and sales team by assisting with kitchen, bathroom, and custom cabinetry projects from initial client consultation through final production preparation. This role involves creating drawings, preparing quotes, coordinating specifications, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring a smooth client experience throughout the design process.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting Support
· Assist designer with kitchen, bathroom, and custom cabinetry layouts
· Prepare preliminary drawings, renderings, and design revisions
· Update plans and specifications based on client feedback
· Maintain accurate measurements, notes, and project details
· Support material, finish, and hardware selections
Client & Sales Support
· Help prepare quotations, pricing, and product specifications
· Assist with showroom appointments and customer follow-up
· Communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, and contractors
· Provide administrative support throughout the sales process
· Help ensure projects remain organized and on schedule
Project Coordination
· Maintain project files, schedules, and documentation
· Coordinate with production, ordering, and installation teams
· Verify specifications and measurements prior to ordering
· Track outstanding information, approvals, and revisions
· Assist with ordering materials and confirming deliveries
Administrative Duties
· Enter and maintain data within company software systems
· Organize samples, catalogs, and showroom materials
· Prepare presentations and client packages
· Assist with general office and team support as required

Qualifications
· Previous experience in cabinetry, interior design, construction, not required but considered an asset
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal abilities
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
· Comfortable learning design and estimating software
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems

· Experience with cabinetry design software (Cabinet Vision, 2020, AutoCAD, Mozaik, or similar)
· Knowledge of cabinetry construction and materials
· Understanding of residential renovation or construction processes
· Interior design education or related coursework considered an asset
