Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant to support early childhood education and development in a nurturing classroom environment. This role involves working closely with children to foster their growth, learning, and social skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, experience in classroom settings, and a strong understanding of early childhood education principles. Prior experience with special education and working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued. The Childcare Assistant will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive space for young learners.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily activities aligned with early childhood education standards
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs through engaging activities and positive interactions
- Help supervise children during activities, outdoor play, and meals.
- Support individualized learning plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Facilitate instructional activities such as tutoring in math, writing skills, or other core subjects
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that promotes safety and learning
- Track student progress and document activities
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to design instructional strategies tailored to diverse learners
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and classroom events
- Assist in developing instructional materials and lesson plans that incorporate best practices in early childhood education
Skills
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff
- Experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings
- Experience supporting students with special needs or disabilities is preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning styles and abilities
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive approach to child development and behavior management
