Exploits Welding & Machine Shop Ltd. (EWMS) is accepting resumes for Journeyperson and Apprentice Welders for rotational on-site mine positions, primarily for heavy machinery repairs and welding services for the mining industry.
Ideally, we are looking for welders who have completed their Journeypersons but will consider experienced Apprentice Welders on a case-by-case basis.
Rotation: two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding repairs on heavy mining equipment including but not limited to haul trucks; excavators; loaders; dozers and graders
- Repair cracks, structural damage and wear components on mobile equipment following repair procedures
- Set up and operate various welding equipment such as welders, gougers, grinders, and other types of equipment
- Complete fabrication work using blueprints and drawings
- Perform FCAW, SMAW and structural welding
- Follow all EWMS and site safety regulations and procedures
- All other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Candidates must have relevant welding experience
- Candidates must possess a valid driver license (Driver abstract required)
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and exhibit a positive can-do attitude
- Candidates must be safety conscious and support the Company’s safety, quality, and environmental programs
- Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience; ideal candidates would have at least 5 years’ experience
- Candidates with experience welding heavy equipment, mining equipment or industrial machinery are preferred
Assets:
- Valid Red Seal Journeyperson’s Certificate
- Experience working on a mine site
- Fabrication experience
- Excellent math and mechanical skills/aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Align (Line) Boring experience
- Operating a fully equipped service truck
- Completion of safety courses:
- · WHMIS 2015
- · Forklift Training
- · Confined Space
- · Fall Protection
- · First Aid, etc.
