Housekeeping Attendant
The Housekeeping Attendant will provide general housekeeping and laundry services throughout the building, including client suites, public washrooms, office space and common areas. Housekeeping Attendants will work with Nursing, Operations, and Culinary Operations to uphold the client-directed Philosophy of Service.
Responsibilities:
- Understands the importance of housekeeping and laundry services in preventing cross contamination.
- Must adhere to all Infection Control Guidelines and policies.
- Collect towels and linens laundry from client suites, sort based on laundry type and return to client suites. May assist with storing fresh laundry.
- Operate washers and dryers according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Fill and replenish supplies in resident’s suites, offices, and washrooms.
- Empty/clean waste receptacles and place waste in designated trash area.
- Move supplies and equipment as required and in accordance with prescribed work schedules.
- Use microfibers as directed - dusts, cleans furniture, counters, shelving, walls, window/door ledges and casings, sinks, toilets and bathroom facilities.
- Maintain clean floors in laundry room, resident suites, hallways, elevators and common areas using appropriate cleaners and microfibers.
- Advises Supervisor of equipment malfunctions and repair requirements, as well as any relevant information and/or observations.
- Assist the client and/or family in identifying housekeeping and laundry goals and interventions.
- Takes every reasonable precaution to protect own health and safety and the health and safety of other persons at or near the workplace.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Demonstrated customer focus.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to safely operate housekeeping and commercial laundry equipment using cleaning agents.
- Works and communicates with internal and external clients to meet their needs in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail.
Job Type: Casual, call in, must be available for morning shifts.
