Job Summary
As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing care and support for animals in a kennel environment. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness of the kennels, ensuring the well-being of the animals, and assisting with various tasks to support the smooth operation of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and animal living areas
- Provide food and water to animals according to schedules
- Monitor and report any changes in animal behavior or health to the appropriate staff
- Assist with bathing, grooming, and exercising animals
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Interact with animals to provide socialization and enrichment
- Assist with basic office tasks such as answering phones and scheduling appointments
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with pet owners
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff members
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
