Sr. Functional Tester/Functional Software Tester – Railway Performance Monitoring (RPM)
Note:: (if we are not able to find someone with RPM experience so make sure candidate must be having very solid experience in Functional Testing)
Job Description::
We are seeking an experienced Functional Tester to support the testing and validation of a Railway Performance Monitoring (RPM) application used for train tracking, operational monitoring, scheduling, and performance management within the transportation sector.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in functional testing, requirements analysis, defect management, and stakeholder collaboration. Experience working with railway, transportation, logistics, or operational monitoring systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and system design documents.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive functional test cases and test scenarios.
- Validate RPM application functionality, including train tracking, schedule management, operational reporting, and performance monitoring features.
- Perform System Integration Testing (SIT), End-to-End Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and Operations teams.
- Verify data accuracy, business rules, workflows, and reporting functionality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and quality metrics.
- Support production deployments and post-release validation activities.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Functional Testing, Software Testing, or Quality Assurance.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Experience creating test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports.
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar.
- Experience validating business processes, workflows, and system integrations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing Railway Performance Monitoring (RPM), Train Tracking, Transportation Management, Logistics, Fleet Management, or Operational Monitoring applications.
- Experience working within railway, transportation, supply chain, or logistics environments.
- Knowledge of real-time monitoring systems and operational dashboards.
- Experience with API testing and backend data validation.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum project environments.
