Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts and clamp trucks to efficiently manage inventory and support warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution processes and ensuring accurate order picking and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload goods from trucks, pallets, and storage areas with precision
- Assist with order picking and inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment and perform minor maintenance or report issues
- Ensure proper stacking, storage, and organization of products to optimize space and safety
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to handle goods efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and order fulfillment activities
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers in a warehouse setting
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order picking
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety procedures and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Valid forklift certification/license preferred but not mandatory; training available for qualified candidates
