Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Grooming Salon Sales Associate to oversee the daily front desk operations of our grooming facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, exceptional customer service, and the physical ability to assist with handling larger pets when needed. This role is essential in ensuring a positive client experience while maintaining high standards of service and care.
The Grooming Salon Sales Associate will play a key role in guiding the team, managing schedules, and ensuring the salon operates efficiently and smoothly, while also supporting retail growth and client retention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily salon operations to ensure an efficient workflow and exceptional customer service
- Support clients with service inquiries, appointment scheduling, and concern resolution
- Manage appointment calendars and maintain accurate service records for each pet
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon, ensuring all safety and hygiene standards are met
- Monitor and manage inventory levels for grooming supplies and retail products
- Promote and sell retail pet products, providing knowledgeable recommendations tailored to each client
- Consistently upsell services and retail items at checkout by clearly communicating current promotions and offers
- Drive client retention by encouraging rebooking and educating clients on ongoing care needs
- Complete administrative duties, including record-keeping and scheduling
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment that supports growth and collaboration
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming services, recommendations, and aftercare
- Handle pets safely, calmly, and compassionately at all times
- Assist with lifting and handling larger pets when required
Core Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and customer satisfaction
- Ability to build rapport with clients and confidently recommend services, retail products, and promotional offers
- Comfortable communicating in-store promotions, such as rebooking incentives (e.g., discounts applied to future appointments)
- Proven ability (or willingness to learn) to contribute to retail sales and client retention goals
- Genuine care for animals and commitment to their well-being
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable communicating expectations, needs, and responsibilities with team members, while working closely with another associate to ensure seamless coordination and workflow
Preferred (Not Required)
- Previous experience in a customer service or pet grooming environment
- Experience as a bather, or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of dog breeds, grooming techniques, and general pet care
- Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment (training will be provided)
- Knowledge of retail pet products, including dog and cat care items
Pay: $18.00 per hour
