We are currently looking for candidates that have experience as an Upholsterer. This is a long-term opportunity located in North York (Dufferin and Steeles) working day shifts.
If you are comfortable working with your hands and using hand and air tools, then this opportunity is for you. Job related training will be provided by the company.
Shift Time: Day Shift - Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
Starting Pay Rate: $20.00
Brief Job Description:
Requirements
- understand a work order.
- identify defective incoming work pieces and outgoing product from his workstation
- upholster a fabric piece to the wood, using foam, and ensure a seat/back/arm of good quality, according to standards, with a straight pattern, without any wrinkles in the fabric. All styles must be uniform in appearance.
- may have to staple a piping around the seat bottom and staple a lining to the base of the seat.
- where chairs require buttons in the seats of backs these are to be properly inserted. Minimal force is required.
- The staple gun affixes the fabric to the foam and wood.
- The staple remover is used to remove staples.
- The steamer is used to remove creasing.
Related work
- Collect and bring seats, backs, arms, foam, fabric to the workstation.
- Return finished pieces to the designated storage facilities.
- Ability to use power tools and hand tools required for chair upholstery.
- Keep work area clean.
- Fill and maintain staple gun.
