Broad Description of Activities and Duties Associated With the Job:
- Assemble press fit tools for cold forming machines
- Kit tooling for changeovers per production schedule
- Issue tools, receive tools and control tool inventory
- Perform all paperwork and database transactions associated with tool management and location.
- Maintain tool service area and inventory in an organized and safe manner ensuring tools are stored logically and are retrievable
- Work with Engineering, Tooling Support, Production, Maintenance, and other contacts to improve processes, etc.
- Train peer operators in the most current, correct and efficient operating methods.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or delegated authority.
General Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of tooling used in forming machines
- Working knowledge of tooling defects/issues and the procedures for correcting those issues
- Ability to competently use the equipment, tools, and devices of the position
- Familiarity with the mechanics and operating logic involved in the assembly and functioning of tooling assemblies, kits, etc.
- Demonstrated understanding of the tooling and cold forming principles including the design, logic, and component pieces that are perishable and non perishable tooling
- Familiarity with safety devices on all department machines and devices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Physical ability and cognitive aptitude to perform the essential duties of the job (details available upon request)
- Working knowledge of the tooling and product numbering systems
- Reasonable oral and written communication skills to convey and receive information
- Decision making techniques based on assessment of a given situation and sound judgment geared to orders of priority.
- Basic computer skills
- Attention to detail; ability to recognize defective product

Certificates, Requirements, Designations or Licenses Required for the Position:
- Technical college diploma in a related field (or equivalent as determined by management)
- 2 years recent, related experience operating production, manufacturing equipment
Night shift: Monday - Friday from 10:50pm- 6:50am
Compensation: Rate of pay starting at $27.13/hr + shift premium, progressing to $29.86/hr after 6 months.
