Bridges Community Health Centre (CHC) is a non-profit, community-governed organization funded by the Province of Ontario. Our holistic, interdisciplinary model of health and wellbeing focuses on primary health care, health promotion, illness prevention, and community capacity building, while considering underlying social determinants of health and barriers to accessing care. Our greatest strength is our team, who are committed to the work they do, serving and strengthening the communities of Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Wainfleet. We are currently recruiting a Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist to join our team.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
· Master of Social Work degree from an accredited university or a Registered Psychotherapist
· Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in a community-based setting
· Thorough knowledge of, and proficiency in, current assessment and short-term, solution-focused, psychosocial counselling and intervention techniques
· Competency in providing support and services (one-on-one and in groups) to individuals suffering from mental health and/or addiction issues, domestic violence, sexual assault, family conflict, trauma/PTSD.
· Experience providing counselling services to adults, seniors and newcomers to Canada.
· Expert knowledge of community-based resources
· Demonstrated ability, commitment to and knowledge of community health care, the social determinants of health and health promotion.
· Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism with a willingness to engage in ongoing learning to increase self-awareness, improve practices and eliminate disparities in health status.
· Awareness of the importance of, and experience with, providing trauma-informed care.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with clients in a culturally diverse practice population, and with colleagues.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
· Excellent communication, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management and time management skills.
· The ability to work at either Bridges CHC location or designated site within our service area.
