We are seeking an Industrial Paint Technician responsible for applying various industrial coatings to metal products, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications. The role includes pre-painting activities like power-washing parts, using a range of tools and techniques for painting, and ensuring proper substrate preparation using methods like sanding or chemical etching. The technician will also be involved in paint mixing, applying industrial coatings in confined spaces, and ensuring the maintenance of a clean, safe work environment.
Midnight Shift: Sunday - Thursday - 11pm - 7:30am
Responsibilities:
- Conduct surface preparation activities on to be coated parts.
- Apply industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
- Measure painting parameters with instrumentation for OEM specification compliance.
- Assist in rigging large objects for industrial coating application.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensure you follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform upkeep and maintenance duties on all painting equipment.
- Fill spray guns/paint pots, adjust nozzles, paint mix for proper paint flow & coat thickness.
- Mask all areas not to be painted.
- Painting of products, components, and sub-assemblies, as per drawings, specifications, and Supervisors directions
- Quality test product and package
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; additional certification in Auto Body/Industrial Painting preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with automotive/industrial coatings.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, paint equipment, and booth operation.
- Ability to mix and spray Automotive/Industrial Urethane Coatings, water and solvent-based systems.
- Good time management and flexibility for overtime or weekend work.
- Teamwork skills.
