We are seeking a skilled and safety‑focused Welder to join our team at Saskatoon Boiler Mfg. Co. Ltd. The ideal candidate will hold a Red Seal Welder certification and/or B‑Pressure qualification and have experience working with boilers, pressure vessels, and custom fabrication projects.This role involves performing high‑quality welding, interpreting drawings, collaborating with production teams, and contributing to our long‑standing reputation for excellence. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing safe, compliant, and reliable work.Responsibilities
- Perform high‑quality welding on boilers, pressure vessels, and custom fabrication projects in accordance with industry codes and internal quality standards.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
- Set up and operate various welding equipment (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, etc.) depending on project requirements.
- Work with engineering, quality control, and production teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safe work practices.
- Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and support NDE processes as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company and regulatory safety standards.
- Assist with layout, fitting, and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Represent Saskatoon Boiler professionally during occasional site visits (if required).
Experience & Qualifications
- Red Seal Welder certification and/or B‑Pressure qualification (required).
- Experience with pressure vessels, boilers, or heavy industrial fabrication is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of welding procedures.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality, compliant welds.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project timelines.
- Knowledge of ASME or CSA codes is an asset (training can be provided).
