Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Carpentry Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various carpentry and construction projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the successful completion of building tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of construction processes, and a willingness to learn and grow within the industry. Prior experience in carpentry, woodworking, or related fields is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist with framing, drywall installation, and finishing tasks
- Support with concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work
- Help with roofing, siding, and exterior cladding projects
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as needed
- Support cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and trim/millwork projects
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Follow safety protocols and company policies diligently
Requirements
- Prior construction experience required
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor for extended periods
- Knowledge of carpentry techniques
- Experience with siding, flooring installation, or tile laying is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team and independently
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety standards
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to work site (various) required
