Employment Conditions - Cultural Safety Senior Adviser - Nunavik (Hudson Bay Coast Villages)
Salaries:
- Between $83 363 and $108 372 per year, depending on experience

Northern premiums and other employment conditions:
- Isolation allowance (without dependents) between $233.38 and $275.30 per week, depending on the village
- Isolation allowance (with dependents) between $411.40 and $485.36 per week, depending on the village
- Retention bonus between $139.13 and $272.48 per week, depending on the village and seniority.
- Cost of living allowance between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village.
Main Responsibilities – Cultural Safety Senior Adviser - Nunavik (Hudson Bay Coast Villages)
Under the authority of the Director of Youth Protection, the incumbent will be mandated to:
- Support the direction of the department of youth protection, in the coordination and implementation of the recommendations contained in the report of the Viens Commission, the Commission on Children's Rights and Youth Protection, specifically the recommendations included in the Aboriginal chapter;
- Represent the perspective of the community in the orientations and decisions taken at different stages of our DYP mandate
- Collaborate with the management team and managers in the development of services that meet the foundations of cultural safety through the application of the YPA (Youth Protection Act).
- Ensure a cultural imprint in the application of the YPA on the territory of Hudson Bay
- Establish strong links with local partners, including the villages of Hudson's Bay and local organizations working with communities (e.g. school, police, CPE...)
- Ensure the planning, organization and delivery of training offered to DYP staff on cultural safety.
- Visits to the villages of the Hudson Bay Coast.
Requirements – Cultural Safety Senior Adviser – Nunavik (Hudson Bay Coast Villages)
- Have the passion to share and use one's cultural competencies for the well-being of Nunavimmiut
- Have the ability to support and accompany managers and teams towards a culturally safe practice
- Be a team player and demonstrate positive and unifying leadership;
- Strong change management skills and an ability to propose creative solutions to complex situations
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the reality and the past experienced by the population.
- Have skills in its interventions with the various authorities and partners of the community
- Fluency in oral and written communications in Inuktitut and in English or French;
- Good knowledge of the cultural safety approach;
- An understanding of the child protection intervention process is an asset;
- Available for trips to the villages of the Hudson Bay Coast
