Nebula Academy embarked on its journey as an accredited independent school in Edmonton in 2014. Since then, it has continued to grow, reaching a total student enrollment of more than 300 in the 2024- 2025 school year, with further growth anticipated in the coming years.
Nebula Academy offers educational programs for elementary (Grades 1 to 6) and junior high (Grades 7 to 9) levels, in addition to early childhood services (ECS). ECS includes kindergarten and educational programming for children as young as 3 years old. At all education levels, Nebula Academy follows the Alberta Education curriculum and program of studies. The required subjects in each grade are taught by homeroom teachers certified by Alberta Education. Nebula Academy prioritizes the academic excellence of its students and dedicates all available resources to meet their needs. Our goal is to create a fulfilling school environment where students feel a sense of belonging and grow as individuals who are academically equipped, at peace with themselves and others, and accepting of diversity. In addition to the Alberta Education curriculum, Nebula Academy introduces Islamic studies programs from kindergarten to grade 9 to cater to students with diverse backgrounds. This program includes language and faith-based subjects within the instructional hours.

Job Overview
We are seeking Elementary School Teachers to join our educational team in 2025-2026 school year. The role may include teaching in ECS. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students and will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of young learners. This role requires classroom management, patience, and excellent communication skills with the students and the parents. This role does not include the delivery/teaching of Islamic studies programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Alberta curriculum standards and cater to the varying learning styles of students.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies, including tutoring and individualized instruction, to support students with special education needs.
- Assess student progress through regular evaluations and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Organize classroom activities, manage classroom behavior, and maintain a structured learning environment.
- Integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences, including utilizing computer software for educational purposes.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to promote a cohesive educational experience for all students.
