Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Demolition Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves performing demolition tasks safely and efficiently, supporting various construction projects, and assisting with site cleanup and preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and familiarity with construction tools and techniques. Prior experience in demolition or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. This position offers an opportunity to develop a broad skill set in the construction industry while contributing to diverse projects.
Responsibilities
- Safely demolish structures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment under supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements
- Assist with site preparation, including debris removal, material handling, and setting up safety barriers
- Support carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, or other trades as needed during demolition phases
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators or bulldozers in accordance with safety protocol
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Assist in estimating materials and labor needs for upcoming phases of construction projects
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after us
Experience
- Prior experience in demolition, construction, or related trades is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, concrete forming, carpentry, masonry, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical work, plumbing, restoration, or cabinet installation is beneficial
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively is desirable
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions are essential
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $23.00-$34.00 per hour
