Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker (Red Seal) to join our Metals Division. The primary focus of the Tool and Die Maker is to accurately produce tools, dies, and parts, ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality products in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate will bring experience, knowledge, attention to detail, and a positive attitude to our team.
Responsibilities
- Develops and designs new tools and dies as required.
- Produces tools, dies, and parts of machines used to manufacture Argus products.
- Builds and repairs cutting and shaping devices for machine tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Cuts, shapes, and trim to customer specifications ensuring the accurate length and/or shapes.
- Constructs and repairs dies.
- Creates molds based on customer specifications.
- Fits and assembles parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.
- Inspects finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
- Conducts test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making any necessary adjustments.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker with a Red Seal certification or equivalent qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and maintenance of tooling equipment.
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC machinery including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mathematical measurements accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in machining and assembly operations such as calipers, micrometers, wrenches, etc.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for precise fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
