Family Legal Assistant/Clerk

Salary: Up to $70K (Based on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate client appointments, meetings, mediations, conferences, and court attendances while managing calendars, limitation periods, and tickler systems.
- Prepare, organize, and assemble court materials, including motion records, court briefs, and financial disclosure briefs.
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, court materials, and general correspondence.
- Review, organize, and input financial information into DivorceMate, ensuring accurate financial disclosure documentation.
- Maintain electronic client files and ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with accounting-related tasks (experience with Acumin Legal Accounting is an asset).
- Provide additional administrative and legal support as required.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of Family Law experience in a law firm.
- Completion of a Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk program; a university degree is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Family Law Rules, family court procedures, and financial disclosure requirements.
- Experience preparing court materials, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, DivorceMate, Nuance PDF/Adobe, Excel, and Philips SpeechExec Pro Dictate (Acumin Legal Accounting is an asset).
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a busy practice, prioritize competing deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proactive, dependable, client-focused, and collaborative with a strong sense of initiative.
