Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable, empathetic, and experienced Home Caregiver to provide daily assistance for a warm and loving individual living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in a home environment.
Duties Include:
- Assisting with mobility and transfers (e.g., bed to wheelchair)
- Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
- Feeding and meal preparation (may include G-tube support if applicable)
- Maintain and operate respiratory equipment and process with the focus on details and client needs
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders and comfort support
- Companionship and emotional support
- Follow the care plan, observe and report any substantial findings and/or changes in the patient’s need and behaviour
- Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by relevant laws and regulations
- High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations
- Able to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with ALS, neuromuscular conditions, or complex care preferred
- Certified caregiver, HCA, or nursing background is an asset
- CPR/First Aid certified is an asset
- Ability to use lifts or assistive devices safely
- Excellent communication and patience
- Must be reliable, punctual, kind, caring and truly enthusiastic about their job
- Immunizations (including COVID vaccines) and current TB test completed within 1 year
- Current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) completed within 1 year
- Are legally able to work in Canada.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
