What You’ll Do
- Actively contribute to a positive team culture and work cohesively across all departments to achieve shared goals
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair different types of boats
- Complete pre-delivery and final delivery inspections
- Test and repair inboard and outboard engines, hulls, propellers, navigational systems, electrical systems, steering gears, and boat accessories using various diagnostic equipment
- Work with the CSR’s to provide proper diagnostic information, photos, videos and labour quotes
- Complete all internal documentation for evaluations and warranty work
- Monitor workflow to determine if scheduled time will be met or if an adjustment is needed to stay in budget
- Work closely with parts to obtain requirements needed to complete the job (both in stock and ordered parts)
- Maintain up to date knowledge on new and emerging technologies in marine service
- Earn and maintain training and certifications for company brands
- Work closely with Location Manager to create a personalized training plan
- Provide hands on training and support to Apprentice Marine Technicians
- Support yard crew, detailers and other crew as needed
- All other duties as assigned
What We’d Like From You
- 3+ years experience in the Marine industry or related experience required
- Marine Technician or automotive diploma considered an asset
- Able to work irregular hours during peak periods including weekends
- Ability to lift, push, kneel and reach, including in high locations
- Ability to work on and off site as required
- Able to work in variable weather conditions
- Valid Drivers License required
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card required
