Position Summary
We are looking for a Restaurant General Manager in Training to join our Japanese cuisine restaurant team in the Greater Vancouver area.
This role is designed for a management candidate who has strong restaurant experience and is ready to grow into a General Manager position. The selected candidate will receive hands-on training in daily restaurant operations, team management, customer service, food quality, cost control, and compliance.
This restaurant concept features a modern Japanese dining experience and a fast-paced guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and support daily restaurant operations, including opening, closing, service flow, and team coordination.
- Assist with leading, training, scheduling, and supervising front-of-house and back-of-house employees.
- Help maintain consistent food quality, service standards, cleanliness, and guest experience.
- Monitor customer feedback and assist with handling guest complaints professionally.
- Support labour cost control, food cost control, inventory, waste management, and other operating expenses.
- Assist with sales growth through strong service, team execution, and local store operations.
- Learn and follow food safety, workplace safety, employment standards, and company policies.
- Prepare basic reports and communicate store performance updates to management.
- Complete training assignments and gradually take on full General Manager responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of restaurant supervisory or management experience, preferably in Japanese, Asian, casual dining, or fast-casual restaurant concepts.
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Assistant General Manager, Store Manager, or similar role is preferred.
- Strong leadership potential, communication skills, and willingness to learn.
- Basic understanding of restaurant operations, scheduling, inventory, food quality, and cost control.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and support the team during peak hours.
- Fluent in English and Japanese.
- Chinese language ability is a plus.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
