We are looking for an experienced Working Foreman to join our team for commercial renovation projects. This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate must be able to lead a crew while also working directly on site.
Our projects may include commercial units, offices, retail spaces, common areas, washrooms, interior renovations, leasehold improvements, and general construction work.
Position Requirements
The candidate must have:
- Minimum 5 years of previous hands-on experience in commercial renovation, interior construction, or general contracting
- Previous experience as a Working Foreman, Lead Hand, Site Supervisor, or Senior Renovation Worker
- Ability to lead and work with a crew on active construction sites
- Strong knowledge of commercial renovation work and interior construction
- Ability to read and understand drawings, scopes of work, and site instructions
- Ability to organize daily site activities and assign tasks to workers
- Experience coordinating workers, subcontractors, materials, deliveries, and site access
- Ability to identify deficiencies and ensure work is completed properly
- Strong knowledge of construction safety, PPE, housekeeping, and site procedures
- Ability to communicate professionally with project managers, clients, building management, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Own basic hand tools and PPE
- Reliable transportation to different job sites
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working in occupied commercial buildings
- Valid driver’s licence
- Experience with offices, retail spaces, condos, common areas, washrooms, and institutional renovation projects
- Knowledge of demolition, framing, drywall, taping, painting, flooring, doors, hardware, trim, ceiling tile, and general finishing
- Ability to plan material needs and report site issues early
- Ability to manage small crews and keep work moving efficiently
- Working at Heights certification
- WHMIS certification
- First Aid certification
Responsibilities
The Working Foreman will be responsible for:
- Leading and working directly with the crew on commercial renovation projects
- Performing hands-on renovation work as required
- Reviewing daily scope of work and assigning tasks to workers
- Keeping the project moving according to schedule
- Coordinating with subcontractors and other trades on site
- Checking quality of workmanship and correcting deficiencies
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Confirming materials, tools, and equipment are available when needed
- Communicating site progress, delays, and issues to management
- Ensuring workers follow safety procedures and site rules
- Assisting with final touch-ups, deficiency repairs, and project closeout
- Representing the company professionally on site
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
