Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Automotive Dismantler to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely removing, inspecting, and preparing automotive parts for resale or recycling. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, enjoys working with cars, and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment where every day is different.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove usable parts from vehicles (e.g., engines, transmissions, doors, bumpers, lights, tires)
- Inspect and assess parts for quality, damage, and resale value
- Organize parts for resale, recycling, or disposal
- Safely drain and dispose of fluids such as oil, gas, and refrigerants in compliance with environmental standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area free of hazards
- Use hand tools, power tools, air tools, jacks, and hoists to complete tasks
- Occasionally assist with packaging, organizing, or moving parts to support the team
- Work with fellow staff to keep things running smoothly
Qualifications
- Previous automotive or mechanical experience preferred (dismantling experience a strong asset)
- Ability to recognize and identify vehicle parts across a wide range of makes and models
- Skilled in safely using automotive tools and equipment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a reliable, positive attitude
- Good organizational skills to keep parts and processes in order
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs when required
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and help others when needed
