Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food and beverage preparation, cash handling, and customer engagement while working in a vibrant coffee shop setting. Prior experience as a barista is required, training will be provided. The position requires strong time management skills and a focus on food safety standards to ensure a positive experience for all customers.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences
- Operate POS systems, accurately handling cash, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Manage food handling and safety procedures to maintain cleanliness and compliance with health regulations
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or special requests
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and dining spaces
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed
- Ensure timely service during busy periods by managing multiple orders efficiently
- Handle cashiering duties with basic math skills for accurate cash handling and change distribution
Skills
- Previous experience as a Barista is highly desirable
- Proficiency with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with serving and food preparation techniques is a plus
