Job Overview
The Student Enrolment Specialist plays a key role in building and sustaining student enrolment at Rothesay Netherwood School (RNS) by supporting the Director of Enrolment Management in various promotional, recruitment, admission, adjudication, retention, and enrolment activities. Please note, this is not a human resources position. Reporting to the Director of Enrolment Management, this role is focused on student recruitment and enrolment, and requires an individual who is highly professional, engaging, organized, and articulate, with excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, administer, and conduct recruitment activities and initiatives, in accordance with approved budget guidelines, inclusive of the design, development, scheduling and delivery of virtual and in-person seminars and presentations to aid in the recruitment of mission-appropriate students.
- Support the student admission process from the point of inquiry through student application in consultation with the Admission Coordinator, Director of Enrolment Management, and other Enrolment Specialists.
- Be the direct liaison and provide counsel on decisions of the Admissions and Scholarship & Bursary committees to candidates’ families, including non-admittance circumstances and options.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of admissions marketing and messaging content.
- Plan, execute, and attend events as a representative of the school.
- Work in conjunction with the Alumni Office to connect with the network of parents, former parents and alumni to assist the admissions program.
- Facilitate the receipt of required enrolment deposits and documents for new and returning students working closely with the Director of Enrolment Management and the Student Retention Committee to manage the annual enrolment and re-enrolment process.
- Provide regular reporting on enrolment (recruitment and admission) activities and assist with statistical analysis of enrolment, financial aid, scholarships, attrition and retention data to contribute to strategic planning.
- Evaluate student reports and assessments in consultation with academic leaders and counsellors, interview candidates, provide summary recommendations to the Admission Committee and Scholarship & Bursary Committee.
- Plan and execute programs that enhance the public awareness and perception of the school, both locally and internationally.
- Manage and guide in-person and virtual meetings and tours with prospective families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, sales, business administration or related field.
- 3-5 years experience in enrollment management or admissions office in an educational institution
- Experienced in sales, business development and client management
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide high-touch service to culturally diverse clients
- Effective communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills, and a solid buy-in into the mission of the School
- Adaptable, organized, and self-motivated with a high level of initiative, to meet the demands of a fast-paced work environment
- Advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with MS Office 365, iWork suite or Google Suite, and CRM tools like Blackbaud
- High learning aptitude, problem-solver, and commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to manage self, be optimistic, collaborate easily with others, and support the team
- Experienced in data and statistical analytics, reporting and presenting derived insights
- High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
- Available for domestic and international travel, and flexible to work some evenings and weekends, as required
- Knowledge of independent schools is considered an asset
- Knowledge of a second language (French or Spanish) is considered an asset
