TFM International is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety & Compliance Manager to lead our safety, regulatory compliance, and driver support programs. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transportation safety and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Manage accident and incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Coach drivers on Hours of Service (HOS), DOT compliance, and safe driving practices.
- Monitor and improve fleet compliance through reporting, audits, and performance tracking.
- Oversee driver orientation, training programs, and ongoing coaching.
- Support and optimize the ISAAC telematics system, including driver coaching and troubleshooting.
- Chair and participate in accident review committees and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage fleet licensing requirements, registrations, permits, and regulatory renewals.
- Coordinate transponder, IFTA, IRP, Heavy Vehicle Use Tax, and licensing programs.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance documentation.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance and Drivers to continuously improve safety performance.
- Communicate regulatory updates, safety initiatives, and compliance expectations throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Experience in transportation safety, compliance, or fleet management.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulations, including Hours of Service, DOT requirements and fleet licensing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- Strong organizational, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
