Job Summary
Bridge to Care is a leading Alberta not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities through person-centred supports, community inclusion, and innovative programs. We are currently seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Inclusive Education Facilitator to join our Bridge to Success – Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) Program at Northwestern Polytechnic in Grand Prairie.
As an Inclusive Education Facilitator, you will work directly with students with developmental disabilities, supporting their academic success, campus participation, independent living skills, and employment readiness while promoting inclusion within the post-secondary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students enrolled in the Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) Program.
- Assist students in achieving their academic, personal, and career goals.
- Support classroom participation, study skills, organization, and assignment planning.
- Promote student independence and self-advocacy.
- Encourage participation in campus activities, student clubs, and community events.
- Assist students in developing independent living and daily life skills.
- Support career exploration, volunteer opportunities, and employment readiness.
- Collaborate with students, families, faculty, accessibility services, and community partners.
- Develop and implement person-centred support strategies.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, progress notes, and service records.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with Bridge to Care policies, Alberta legislation, and funding requirements.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Disability Studies, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child and Youth Care, Rehabilitation, or a related field.
Equivalent education and relevant experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities will also be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
- Experience in educational, vocational, or community support settings.
- Strong understanding of person-centred planning and inclusive practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.
- Reliable vehicle with valid insurance.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Alberta Intervention Record Check.
- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
