The Opportunity:
The Weight Room Monitor supports the day-to-day operations of the fitness centre, helping to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment. This role is responsible for monitoring the facility, maintaining equipment and cleanliness standards, and delivering front-line customer service, while actively contributing to a positive, welcoming, and engaging experience for all users.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor the fitness centre and track area to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all users
- Maintain and clean fitness equipment and the running track to support a high standard of facility cleanliness and presentation.
- Proactively identify and address cleaning, safety, and operational needs
- Assist with program set-up, equipment inventory and related operational tasks
- Provide excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries and conducting facility tours
- Assist the Wellness Specialists, Personal Trainers and Active for Life Coordinator
You Bring:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR and AED (provide copies with application)
- A strong commitment to providing a positive customer experience
- Initiative and the ability to independently identify and complete tasks without direct supervision
- A proactive approach to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Ability to stay engaged and take initiative in a dynamic setting
- Sound problem-solving skills and confidence in ensuring facility rules and guidelines are followed
- Reliability, accountability, and attention to detail

Additional Information:
- This is a casual position (no guaranteed minimum hours) and will require the ability to work a flexible shift schedule consisting entirely of evening, and weekend shifts. Monthly schedules will be set based on your availability and operational needs.
- Successful candidate must commit to at least two shift per month to maintain the position.

- Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to occasionally lift (up to 110 pounds), bend, push, pull and kneel to manage the manual labor component of the position.
