The position is responsible for the pairing of company resources (equipment and drivers) to system orders while ensuring safety and efficiency at all times. This will apply mainly to the Montreal, QC, and surrounding areas.
Main Duties:
Match drivers, trucks and trailers to orders based on load requirements
Prepare job quotes and complete work orders
Ensure drivers have adequate hours of service and rest
Arrange for equipment to be available for regular scheduled preventative maintenance
Plan route for drivers by adding route or track points as required
Ensure delivery instructions are complete
Provide instructions to and answer questions from drivers
Contact off duty drivers to provide trip instructions for next on duty status
Communicate schedule requests to dispatch manager
Communicate changes to planned orders and update the system as required
Track and trace all outbound and inbound deliveries and work with Dispatcher Manager to resolve service issues and failures
Follow standard operating procedures (SOP's ) and work instructions and supports continuous improvement initiatives
On call after hours and weekends required and compensation offered.
Willing to work minimal hours every other weekend for order entry/tracking.
Perform all other duties as required
