Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Summer Camp Counselors to join our team and create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children during the summer months. This role involves supervising campers, organizing activities, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and social development. Ideal candidates are energetic, compassionate, and enjoy working with children of various ages. Previous experience in childcare or camp settings is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
Duties
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children participating in camp activities throughout the day
- Lead and facilitate a variety of recreational activities, games, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises
- Assist with setting up activity stations and preparing materials needed for daily programs
- Foster a positive environment by encouraging teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among campers
- Enforce camp rules and policies to maintain a safe and organized setting
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and campers regarding daily activities and any concerns
- Support campers with personal needs as necessary, promoting independence and confidence
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure quality programming
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in camps, daycare centers, schools, or community programs is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children and build rapport
- Ability to organize activities that are age-appropriate, engaging, and educational
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and parents
- Demonstrated responsibility, patience, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment

Pay: $17.60 per hour

- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Working with children: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
