This role requires standing, counting and ordering inventory, lifting 20-30 lbs cases of alcohol and or convenience items, interacting with customers, working with our POS system, and managing co-workers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Manager will be required to carry out the following duties within the store.
- Ensure all staff are following Company Policies & Procedures;
- Delegate tasks to team members
- Follow up to ensure the team has completed the required tasks for their shift.
- Daily paperwork;
- Execution and team follow-up of promotions;
- Ordering;
- Inventory Control;
- Waste Control;
- Finding other staff members to cover shifts in the event of sickness or other absence;
- Assist Store Manager in growing sales;
- Maintenance calls as approved by the Store Manager
- Listen and respond to customer complaints (escalating complaint to Store Manager if necessary);
- Training new & existing employees;
- Other duties are directed.

Requirements:
- Must have excellent communication skills - you will be required to interact with clients in a professional and engaging manner
- Must be 19 years of age
- Must be able to lift 30lbs
- Must have, or obtain, Serving It Right certification by job start date
- Available to work on evenings and weekends
- The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a retail store management position
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
Hours of Work – able to work a flexible schedule at a minimum of 37.5 hours a week. The Assistant Manager’s schedule will typically be evenings and weekends; they will work around the manager’s schedule.
Compensation: Based on experience
Experience:
- Retail management: 2 years
- Liquor retail management experience is preferred, but not required
- Industry certifications are preferred, but not required
