Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our French Immersion Program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster bilingual language development and support the holistic growth of young children in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and experience developing a program plan for children 3 to 5 years old for bilingual development. This position emphasizes leadership, organization, and a commitment to creating an engaging and nurturing classroom experience.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements developmentally appropriate program activities in alignment with the Kittens’ Mittens Child Care Gateway program philosophy, intentionally integrating French language immersion into daily routines, play, and learning experiences to support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and language development
- Plans and follows daily schedules and routines that reflect children’s developmental needs, interests, and classroom rhythms
- Individualizes and adapts curriculum and activities to ensure inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful participation for all children
- Uses French and English as the primary language of instruction and communication during daily activities, transitions, play, and routines, while providing supportive strategies (visuals, gestures, repetition) to promote understanding and emotional security
- Monitors, guides and engages children during learning and play times (indoor and outdoor), meal times, proper hygiene caring, and nap/rest times to maintain a secure and safe environment
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discusses progress and/or behavioural and learning difficulties children may present with parents and other staff members
- Assists other Early Child Care Educators and other Mentors in keeping records
- Maintains child care equipment and assists in housekeeping
- Maintains a physical environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Helps in preparing and serving snacks and lunch, arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Orders and organizes classroom supplies and materials that support French language learning and child development
- Participates in professional development, team meetings, and ongoing collaboration related to early learning, French immersion practices, and inclusive care
- Other related duties as assigned
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
