Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals in their homes. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide medication administration and monitor health conditions as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support mobility and assist with heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Help clients with mobility exercises or physical therapy routines if applicable
- Document care provided and report any changes in health or behavior to supervisors or healthcare providers
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care settings is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, dementia, or other special needs is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills is advantageous
- Previous caregiving roles involving patient care, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities will be considered a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills and compassionate nature are essential for building trust and rapport with clients
