Overview
A manufacturing company in Brantford is looking to fill a vacation Quality Machinist Technician position on the afternoon shift. This position will provide machining, testing, & inspection support for the Quality Department. The Machinist Technician will be responsible for using a variety of manual machines to prepare materials for evaluation & testing. Must be mechanically inclined.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Charpy coupon samples for Impact Testing
- Operate Charpy Impact Testing Machine
- Operate Lathe
- Operate Milling Machine
- Operate Band Saw
- Operate Surface Grinder
- Maintain equipment & Lab cleanliness
- Help with F.A.I. (First Article) qualification
- Other duties as assigned by the Company
Knowledge and Experience
- Must be able to read/interpret engineering Drawings & Specifications\
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to use measuring instruments and gauges and have knowledge of calibration systems.
- Good mechanical aptitude, ability to machine to tolerance.
- Familiar with finishing processes including galvanizing, painting and coatings.
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision is required.
- Self-starter and self-motivation are essential.
- Conscientious about workplace health and safety.
- Experience in a quality testing environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Education
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year experience in a machinist role
- Experience in a quality testing environment is preferred

Pay: Up to $60,000.00 per year
